Today marks the beginning of a new running feature here at Urbanize LA: Throwback Thursday.  With so much development happening across our city these days, we thought it might be fun to start taking a look back at how far we've come.

Today's TBT comes from photographer Hunter Kerhart. The before photo was snapped in January 2013, and the after photo was taken September 2015.  The before/after shots highlight several new projects (and renovations...hint, hint) throughout downtown.  How many can you spot, eagle eyed readers?

Affordable Housing Rises Next to Blue Line in Long Beach

After nine months of construction, Century Housing is now four stories about ground at the Beacon, a new affordable housing complex in Downtown Long Beach. 

The project, located next to the Blue Line's Anaheim Station, will feature 160 residential units catering to seniors and veteran in two buildings known as Beacon Place and Beacon Pointe.  Plans also call for amenities such as a gym, a public plaza, supportive s
