Construction is now underway for a two-building mixed-use complex at Olympic Boulevard and Catalina Street in Koreatown.

The project, known as M - Apartment and M - Plaza, will consist of a new three-story commercial building fronting Olympic and a podium-type apartment building along Catalina.

According to a LoopNet page, the new commercial building will feature 35,000 square feet of rentable space, catering to restaurants, retailers and office users.  Plans also call for a food court, an outdoor patio and an underground parking structure for more than 100 vehicles.

City records indicate that the adjacent apartment complex will be a six-story structure, featuring 13 residential units and two levels of basement parking.

The architecture firm Grace Partnership is designing both buildings.  A lone rendering of the project portrays two contemporary low-rise structures.

Directly across the intersection, developer Manhee Properties is further into construction on a similar residential-retail complex.
