It's been rumored since January, but the announcement makes it official: Spotify is coming to the Arts District.

Spotify, best known for its eponymous music streaming service, will relocate its regional headquarters to the At Mateo complex, according to an announcement by developers ASB Real Estate Investment and Blatteis & Schnur.  The Swedish-based company will vacate an existing leased space in West Hollywood.

By taking nearly 110,000 square feet, Spotify will become At Mateo's largest tenant, joining USC's Roski School of Art and Design - which took 16,000 square feet in February - and Soylent - which leased 29,000 square feet last year.

Also announced this week was a 7,000-square-foot lease by Girl & the Goat, the property's first restaurant.  It is the first Los Angeles location for the Boka Restaurant group and is set to open next year.

Located at the intersection of Palmetto and Mateo Streets, At Mateo features a total of 195,000 square feet of rentable space in four buildings - as well as a four-level, 540-car parking garage.  The complex is now approximately 85 percent occupied, according to a representative of Cushman & Wakefield, which is leasing the property.

At Mateo is located a short distance southwest of a warehouse at 520 Mateo Street, where San Francisco-based Carmel Partners has announced plans to construct a 35-story mixed-use tower.

In other news, the Eastsider reports that ad agency Chandelier Creative is relocating its Los Angeles area offices to Highland Park, taking 13,000 square feet at a former Owl Drug Store on North Figuera.
