A rendering has emerged for a skyline-altering development slated for a parking lot north of Staples Center and the L.A. Live complex.
The project, submitted to the Los Angeles Planning Department earlier this year, would create a 66-story tower on a nearly two-acre property at 925 S. Figueroa Street, adjacent to the Hotel Figueroa. A full buildout of the development would include 200 condominiums, a 220-key hotel, 94,000 square feet of commercial space and a 617-car garage.
The rendering portrays a rectangular glass tower, soaring high above neighboring buildings such as Oceanwide Plaza and the J.W. Marriott at L.A. Live. The building's mass would rise above a podium structure that is capped by an amenity deck featuring a swimming pool, landscaping and other gathering spaces.
City records link the project to Regalian, a limited liability company helmed by Justin Leong.
A similar development featuring residential units, retail space and hotel rooms is planned for the car wash site on the opposite side of the Hotel Figueroa.
