Starting this week, a series of community meetings which will provide residents of the six cities along phase two of the Foothill Gold Line extension an opportunity to preview station designs and learn about potential construction impacts.

The $1.4-billion project, funded in part by the Measure M transportation sales tax which took effect earlier this month, will extend rail service over 11 miles east from Azusa through the cities of Glendora, San Dimas, La Verne, Pomona, Claremont and Montclair.  The Montclair Station, planned just past the L.A. County line, is contingent on approximately $70 million in funding from San Bernardino County.

Construction is expected to begin in October of this year and finish by 2027.  At completion, the Gold Line will offer a 40-minute trip between Montclair and Pasadena, and a 75-minute ride between Montclair and Union Station in Downtown Los Angeles.

Glendora

The station will be located south Glendora's historic downtown and east of Vermont Avenue.  Plans call for a center platform with a 420-car parking garage, as well as bus, bike and pedestrian amenities.

 

San Dimas

The San Dimas Station will be located east of San Dimas Avenue between Bonita Avenue and Arrow Highway.  Plans call for a center platform and a 450-car parking structure.

 

La Verne

La Verne Station will be located north of Arrow Highway between the University of La Verne and the Fairplex.  Plans call for a center platform, a 600-car parking garage and amenities for bus passengers, cyclists and pedestrians.

 

Pomona

Pomona Station will be located north of an existing Metrolink station west of Garey Avenue.  It will feature a center platform, as well as a pedestrian walkway that connects to a 980-car parking structure and the adjacent Metrolink station.  Bicycle and pedestrian amenities are also planned.

 

Claremont

Claremont Station will be located at the current site of the Claremont Metrolink Station, which will be relocated east of College Avenue.  The center platform Gold Line Station will share a 1,260-car parking facility with the Metrolink stop, and also feature pedestrian, bus and bicycle amenities.

 

Montclair

The Montclair Gold Line terminus will a center platform station located north of an existing Metrolink Station.  The Metro stop will share a 1,600-car garage with Metrolink.
